Avoid Moving Company Brokers. Most people who run moving companies know that moving company brokers should be avoided. When you contact a broker, the broker farms out the move to an independent moving company. Usually these companies are not the best, in fact, sometimes they are the worst. People looking to move sometimes get dazzled by the low cost and seeming reputability of the moving company broker. Don’t let that be you!
Brokers Can Cause Unexpected Problems
Okay, moving company brokers are competitors. We have a bias. So, don’t take our word for it. Take a look at this blog post by NBC12 in Richmond, VA. They go over the problems you may encounter when using a moving company broker and some of the things you should do to make sure you will not get hustled by some disreputable moving company broker. They also interview a family who’s furniture was held hostage because they used a broker who farmed out the move to a disreputable independent mover. You can read the article here.
Don’t Do It
We at Paul Hauls think that brokers do not add enough value to be of service to people looking to move. There are few if any circumstances where a broker is a better choice than a moving company. Why pay the extra cost in first place? Or, like in the case of the Virginia family, end up with a lousy moving company so that the broker could make a nice omission on the move. Don’t do it. Hire a reputable moving company.
